Arch Enemy, Black Earth(1996)

Melodic death metal from Sweden

Arch Enemy started as a side project from Carcass member Michael Amott. It continued the more melodic side of Carcass. Nowadays you can call Arch Enemy commercial melo death. But this debut sounds special to me...the vocals remind a bit of Carnivore's Peter Steele.

Entombed, Clandestine(1991)

Death metal from Sweden

Clandestine by Entombed is my favorite death metal album all times. Brutal riffs and the one-time appearance of vocalist Johnny Dordevic...what a voice. Or not? Some say it's drummer Andersson who recorded the vocals. Don't care cause this album slamms.

Onslaught, Sounds Of Violence(2011)

Thrash metal from the U.K.

THE thrash release from 2011!  Nothing else to say about it!

Omnium Gatherum, New World Shadows(2011)

Progressive melodic death metal from Finland

Nine beautiful, epic and progressive songs. The entire album is of a constant quality. It takes a few listening-times before maximum appreciation. Together with Insomnium leaders in this genre. Get relaxed with a metal album...:-)

Nightrage, Insidious(2011)

Melodic death metal from Greece/Sweden

Nightrage started as the new band of Thomas Lindberg (At The Gates). Their debut 'Sweet Vengeance' is a classic one in the genre. This release is even better I think if you like melodic death metal, this is the one you MUST have!

Belphegor, Blood Magick Necromance(2011)

Blackened death metal from Austria

Perverse, sick, ridiculous, bad taste, ingenious, etc. Many things to say about Belphegor, but 1 thing  is for sure: this album is intense and of high quality. Produced by Peter Tägtgren.

Amon Amarth, Surtur Rising(2011)

Melodic death metal from Sweden

Raise your swords and shields, the Vikings from Sweden are back with an AWESOME album.
