Onslaught, Sounds Of Violence(2011)

Thrash metal from the U.K.

THE thrash release from 2011!  Nothing else to say about it!

Omnium Gatherum, New World Shadows(2011)

Progressive melodic death metal from Finland

Nine beautiful, epic and progressive songs. The entire album is of a constant quality. It takes a few listening-times before maximum appreciation. Together with Insomnium leaders in this genre. Get relaxed with a metal album...:-)

Nightrage, Insidious(2011)

Melodic death metal from Greece/Sweden

Nightrage started as the new band of Thomas Lindberg (At The Gates). Their debut 'Sweet Vengeance' is a classic one in the genre. This release is even better I think if you like melodic death metal, this is the one you MUST have!

Belphegor, Blood Magick Necromance(2011)

Blackened death metal from Austria

Perverse, sick, ridiculous, bad taste, ingenious, etc. Many things to say about Belphegor, but 1 thing  is for sure: this album is intense and of high quality. Produced by Peter Tägtgren.

Amon Amarth, Surtur Rising(2011)

Melodic death metal from Sweden

Raise your swords and shields, the Vikings from Sweden are back with an AWESOME album.

D.R.I., Crossover(1987)

Crossover/Thrash metal from the U.S.A.

With this 3rd full-lenght, the Dirty Rotten Imbeciles went more thrash. They started as a punk band and by putting more metal in their music, crossover was born. Together with Suicidal Tendencies and S.O.D., as most influencial bands, they are the founders of the crossover genre. The album cover couldn't be more clear!

Crumbsuckers, Life Of Dreams(1986)

Crossover from the U.S.A.

In the days when thrash metal and punk metal merged, this band from N.Y.C. was one of the pioneers in the crossover scene. Check out the original 'froggy' vocals from Notaro.

Keep Of Kalessin, Armada(2006)

Melodic/Epic black metal from Norway

This band 'rocks' as hell. The guitar riffs of Obsidian are amazingly tense. This in combination with drum beast Vyl and the varied vocals of Thebon (new on this album) makes this a classic in it's genre.

Dominion Caligula, A New Era Rises(2000)

Melodic death/black metal from Sweden

A project from (ex-)members of Dark Funeral, Obscurity and Vicious Art, with the recognizable vocals from M. Broberg. They made only 1 album and that's a pity.

Hypocrisy, A Taste Of Extreme Divinity(2009)

Melodic death metal from Sweden

The 12th album of chameleon Peter Tägtgren and his boys and it sounds still heavy and melodic as in their begin days. My fav song is Hang Him High: heavy pounding guitars and Peter's high screeeeeaaaaming.

Testament, The Legacy(1987)

Thrash metal from U.S.A.

The first album on vinyl I bought and still my all time favorite. Bay Area thrash it's called. Nine classic metal tracks. Bang those heads!

Cyclone, Brutal Destruction(1986)

Thrash metal from Belgium

Yep, the name of this blog is inspired by this band. For me as Belgian, Cyclone is the best thrash band Belgium ever had. They play no-nonsense thrash metal with fantastic riffs and the crucial high screaming vocals. After their split in the 90's some members formed that other Belgian icon Channel Zero.
Damn I love the 80's! Check Cyclone's debut!!!
